Pretty Book Places is where literature meets travel, a storytelling platform for people who see the world through books.

I’m Johanna, the creator behind it, a photographer, writer, and lifelong book lover. I tell visual stories about bookshops, libraries, cafés, and hotels that make readers want to slow down and explore.

What began as a side project during my law studies in Germany has grown into a global community that celebrates culture, architecture, and the quiet beauty of reading. My work inspires people to travel differently, to look for stories not just in books, but in the places that hold them.
Today, I live with my husband and our two children in a home in Cologne that’s filled with books, quite literally, there’s a bookshelf in every room. We live and breathe stories, and I’m always planning the next literary escape.

Pretty Book Places has become a space for everyone, the book-obsessed reader, the curious traveler and anyone who believes that every place has its own story to tell.
